Tuition Refund and Cancellation Policy

The process of requesting a refund starts automatically when the student expresses his intent to withdraw from a course/program. The census date is the date on the Withdrawal Form, if one is filled out, or the last date of when the student expressed his/her intent to withdraw. The Withdrawal Form can be found at the Registrar’s Office. If a form is filled out, the Director of Education submits it to the Chief Financial Officer to process the refund. If the Director of Education has further questions, he/she will contact the student directly before making a decision. Once a decision has been reached, the student will receive a copy of the signed form by the Director of Education together with the refund calculations and will include the statement “a refund check will be mailed to the student in a maximum period of 45 calendar days from the withdrawal date”. A copy of the form mailed to the student will be enclosed in the student folder.

REFUND DATES

1. If a student never attends any classes (no-show), cancels his/her enrollment prior to the beginning of the class/program, the student is rejected enrollment by InovaTech or InovaTech cancels the program in which the student enrolled, a full refund will be issued within forty-five (45) calendar days of the first scheduled day of class or the date of cancellation or rejection, whichever is earlier.

2. If an enrolled student withdraws from the class/program, the refund due will be calculated using the last day of attendance (LDA) and be paid within forty-five (45) calendar days from the withdrawal date written on the Course/Program Withdrawal Form.
PROGRAM REFUND POLICIES
If the student enrolls in a complete program, the refund policy stated below applies.

Withdrawal or termination before the start of program and up to 10% of the program
It is the policy of InovaTech that if a student started attending the program and decides to withdraw or terminate the enrollment before the program starts or before completing 10% of the program, the student will receive a refund of 100% of tuition paid. The same policy applies if enrollment is rejected, the classes are cancelled or the program is cancelled.

Withdrawal or termination after attending between 10% and 50% of the program

It is the policy of InovaTech that an administrative fee of $100 will be retained if the student withdraws or terminates the enrollment after attending between 10% and 25% of the program. The refund amount will not exceed a pro rate portion of tuition for the training received plus $100 administrative fee.

Withdrawal or termination after attending 50% of the program

It is the policy of InovaTech that if the withdrawal/termination occurs after fifty percent (50%) of the period of financial obligation is completed, InovaTech will retain the full tuition.

For example, let’s assume that the price of the program is $8,400, the price of each class is $1,050, the program is made out of 8 classes. Each class has a length of 10 business days, which means that the entire program has a length of 80 days. 10% of the program length is 8 days and 50% of the length is 40 days.

If the student withdraws at the end of the 7th day of program:
Amount retained by InovaTech= $0
Amount refunded to the student = $8,400

If the student withdraws at the end of the 25th day of the program:
Amount retained by InovaTech= $100 + 25 x $105 = $2,725
Amount refunded to the student = $8,400 – $2,725 = $5,675

If the student withdraws at the end of the 56th day of the program:
Amount retained by InovaTech= $8,400
Amount refunded to the student = $0

Under extraordinary circumstances, the student or immediate family will be refunded as follows:

Termination before the start of program and up to 10% of the program
It is the policy of InovaTech that if a student started attending the program and, under extraordinary circumstances, must terminate the enrollment before the program starts or before completing 10% of the program, the student will receive a refund of 100% of tuition paid. The same policy applies if enrollment is rejected, the classes are cancelled or the program is cancelled.

Withdrawal or termination after attending more than 10% of the program
It is the policy of InovaTech that if the student withdraws or terminates the enrollment under extraordinary circumstances after attending more than 10% of the program, no administrative fee will be retained. Under extraordinary circumstances, the refund amount will not exceed a pro rate portion of tuition for the training.

EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES
Extraordinary Circumstances are an illness, accident, or situation which could not be influenced, planned for, or prevented by the student and which subsequently caused a change in the class schedule, thus changing the assessment. This provision excludes conditions or chronic illnesses that remain static and are known to the student at the time of registration as well as situations that involve a student’s employment. Extraordinary circumstances are also the student’s death and students who are called to Active Military Duty or Deployment.

EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES REQUEST PROCEDURES

1. If the student believes he/she is entitled to a refund due to an extraordinary circumstance defined as an illness, accident, or situation which could not be influenced, planned for, or prevented by the student and which subsequently caused a change in the class schedule, the student must fill out the Refund Petition Form that can be found at the Registrar’s Office and submit to the Registrar. Written documentation must be submitted together with the form as evidence. In individual cases and when it is in the best interest of the student and the institution, the Vice President, President or the Director of Education may grant an exception that is not stated in the criteria elsewhere.
2. In case of student’s death, the refund will be made to the administrator or executor of the estate of the deceased student. In this case, 100% of the current and future semesters will be refunded.
Student who are called on Active Military Duty or who receive orders for Deployment, must present a copy of their military orders to the Registrar as documentation. The refund will be calculated according to the Refund under Extraordinary Circumstances policy in the above paragraph.
